Countdown – One More Day
One more day until Second Chances releases from Cobblestone Press.
Here is a song by New Edition that’s aptly titled – One More Day
Countdown – 7 days
In exactly 7 days Second Chances will be released from Cobblestone Press. So I’m sharing the banner and a small excerpt with you today.

Run.
Turn around, get in your car and go before anyone sees you.
Those were the first thoughts in Elaina Matthews’ mind as she approached the back gate.
She didn’t want to intrude, and knowing her presence may cause conflict, Elaina opted to follow her instincts and leave. She was heading back towards her car when she felt a hand on her arm, stopping her mid-stride.
“Running away?” the deep, molasses-thick voice inquired.
Elaina took a step back instinctively and whirled around. Her smile was immediate as she met the dark chocolate orbs of Sebastian Ramos as he stared back at her.
3 Days to go
In three days Take Me As I Am will be released from Phaze. It is the first in the Urban Phaze series to be released.
We got the first review for Take Me As I Am in the other day. And I’m pleased to say that it’s a positive one.
Literary Nymphs Reviews Only reviewed the story.
Take Me As I Amis a story with a difference. Ms Ford has written a powerful book about two fabulous, sexy men who want what everyone does, to be accepted for what they are with all their flaws, and their hope for a little tolerance in the world. The heat level in this book is easily a 10 as are the men and there is enough of a story, albeit short, to make it a really enjoyable read. My hat is off to Ms Ford for her insight in creating these wonderful characters who have the same vulnerabilities as the rest of us!
And Another One
There’s a chorus of a Notorious BIG song that goes…
And another one…
And it made me think of writing because there are only 8 more days ’til Take Me As I Am releases. But I’ve been doing some research on promotion and marketing and I came across an interesting tidbit of advice. The best promotion is to write another book. And maybe it’s the high of “Release Day” approaching. But I’ve been planning out my next writing projects – 4 novellas and thinking about which one or two I will tackle first. Those don’t include my full novels either, my YA or the Urban Fantasy or the Erotic Thriller. Maybe one full length and one novella – alternating or as Kimberly Kaye Terry coined “parallel writing”.
And I received my author copies for Take Me As I Am so that got me thinking about promo again. And I really had fun writing Take Me As I Am and have been toying with a possible continuation/sequel/series with some of the other characters’ in the novella.
So many possibilities so little time to write but with careful planning and time management I think it can get done.
And here’s another card – this time I finally got it to work with the cover so you can see the skyline at night.

Nine Days and Counting
In less than 10 days, my newest release will be live on the Phaze website.
Take Me As I Am is my first male/male erotic novella.
It didn’t start off that way when I planned it. But as some writers can tell you, characters don’t always cooperate with what you have planned. The hero was originally going to be heterosexual and I had envisioned the story as an inter-racial romance. But writing happens and the story transformed into what it is today, which I think is better than what I had planned.
I originally got the idea for Take Me As I Am from listening to a local radio station here and a comment from a dear friend of mine. Which is why Jay Black, one of the hereos, is a radio jockey.
So I’ve been playing around with promo ideas and items. And I was over at Shiloh Walker‘s blog and she mentioned this trading card maker which she heard about from PBW. So I tried it out.
Let me know what you think. You’ll note that the picture on the card is different than the book but it is still a beautiful picture of the Detroit Skyline and waterfront.

Blurb – Take Me As I Am
Take Me As I Am by Angeleque Ford
URBAN PHAZE – DETROIT
Contemporary, M/M, African-American
Jay Black is one of 90.5′s WKBL Detroit’s most popular late night radio jockey’s. And he’s used to taking some interesting and bizarre calls. So it’s not surprising when Jay’s personal life becomes the topic after seeing his ex-boyfriend, Darrius Stone is back in town. When a caller suggests Jay get over his broken heart by starting on a new one, Darrius sees it as the perfect opportunity and phones in with a proposition… a one night stand.
But when he finds out who the caller was, he’s furious and informs Darrius sex wasn’t the problem between them acceptance was. And while he won’t give him another chance to break his heart, he will agree to one last fuck. Can Jay accept Darrius’ new life? And will Darrius’ be able to accept Jay’s choices? Or will the past get in the way of their future together?
Cover Show Off – Take Me As I AM
Here’s the cover for my upcoming m/m release from Phaze.

I just love this picture of the skyline downtown. And happens to show off one of my favorite places in the city – the waterfront.
I love going down and sitting by the water, watching the boats & ships, people watching and just enjoying being outside. It is very calming and relaxing and a great place to write or read.
